TASCA

“People do not stop doing things because they get older.

They get older because they stop doing things.”

Recreation

TASCA offers a number of different recreational opportunities that provide fun and fellowship to seniors in our community. Numerous outings to local community and cultural events are scheduled throughout the year. TASCA attendees usually sit together as a group, while enjoying reduced fees for most events.

Dancing is offered at TASCA— lessons as well as dancing to live  and taped music

Games are held daily at the TASCA Activity Center. These events are open to all - including non-TASCA members. Most TASCA activities are available to TASCA members at no charge. In order to maintain a level playing field, new procedures have been put in place at the new TASCA Activity Center for non-member usage. Non-members will be given a one-month pass to attend TASCA no-charge activities for free. Upon the expiration of their pass, they will then have the option to become a TASCA member or pay $1 for each day of attendance at TASCA functions. When a fee is associated with an activity, TASCA members' fees are subsidized by TASCA, while non-TASCA members must pay the full fee.

Social Mixers are held frequently to provide an opportunity for people to get together for a common purpose.

Potluck Dinners are held monthly. A general business meeting is contacted during these get-togethers. Frequently, entertainment type programs are also included in these events.

Travel includes day and overnight tours to such places as the Cowboys Stadium and Branson, MO.

Local Outings are arranged to attend local plays and concerts, held at civic centers and colleges. Members enjoy attending sporting events at the University of Texas in Tyler for a $3.00 general admission fee.
